The tailings dewatering screens and sand dewatering screens are used in the dehydration process. But the biggest difference between the two is that the tailings dewatering screen is mainly used to dewater the underflow of cyclone and thickener, while the sand dewatering screen is mainly used for dewatering, desilting, desliming and recycling.
When the tailings dewatering screen works, about 75% of the underflow of high-concentration cyclone or the underflow of the thickener enters the feed end of the dewatering screen, and a thicker ore filter layer is automatically formed immediately. Under the action of high-frequency vibration, the water gradually passes through the ore filter layer and enters under the sieve. The water content of the sieve is about 15%, which fully meets the standard of dry tailings discharge.

Tailings disposal screen is mainly used in the tailings dry discharge process lines, with the use of mechanical equipment is belt filter press, thickener, and other equipment. The vibrating dewatering screen is generally used with the mechanical equipment is fine sand recovery units, sand washing machine, and sand making equipment.
4. Different working principle
Tailings dry disposal screen is to separate the tailings discharged from the dressing process to the maximum of dry materials and water through a certain dry discharge process. The dry materials can be transported to the tailings yard for storage, and the water can be returned to the concentrator for use.
Dewatering screen uses the vibrating motor principle to separate sand and water and improve the quality of sand.
