The rotor can be described as the core part of the sand-making machine. The material is mainly crushed and shaped here, and the accumulation of material is a normal phenomenon.
What is the function of the accumulated material in the rotor?
The accumulated material in the rotor of the sand-making machine can protect the inner wall of the rotor, and more importantly, protect the rotor throwing head from direct wear and impact.
Insufficient material accumulation will expose the throwing head, causing the large stones in the material to be directly cut with the inlay head, resulting in premature wear of the throwing head and causing the throwing head to fall off the clamping block grinding plate; too much accumulation will also cause damage to the rotor. Friction occurs, affecting the service life of the rotor. If the material accumulation inside the rotor is ideal, the wear on the upper and lower wear plates should be uniform, and the rotor material throwing head can be fully utilized, thereby reducing production-consumption.
Basic principles of stock adjustment
1. The accumulated material inside the rotor can protect the worn parts and not hinder the material from passing through the crusher.
2. The accumulated material does not contact the sidewall and bottom of the feeding cylinder to prevent premature wear.
3. The material flow in and out of each throwing port is the same so that the wear degree of the throwing head is similar.
How to adjust the accumulation
1. Adjust the rotor
If the rotors that have just left the factory are not adjusted to a certain extent, it is generally difficult to achieve the ideal working state (under normal circumstances, each rotor must be adjusted before it is put into use).
Rotor adjustment refers to the control of the material accumulation inside the rotor, which can be controlled by changing the size, position, and shape of the guide plate. The main purpose of adjusting the rotor is to ensure that the accumulated material can spread from the rotor’s guide plate to the insert head of the throwing head, and keep the worn part in the middle of the throwing head.
2. Adjustment method when the accumulated material is insufficient
If the accumulated material is lower than the height of the throwing head, the width of the guide plate should be increased until the accumulated material is close to the height of the throwing head. If the buildup begins to erode the feeder barrel, the solution is to move the deflector toward the thrower, which will move the peak of the buildup away from the feeder barrel without reducing the thrower’s buildup.
3. Adjustment method when the accumulated material is too much
If the accumulated material rubs against the feeding barrel, narrow the guide plate until the accumulated material starts to retreat from the throwing head. If the buildup is still eroding the feed barrel, move the guide plate forward so that the peak of the buildup moves away from the feeder barrel again without reducing the buildup on the thrower.
